We are happy to announce our yearly Guru Pūrṇimā meditation and practices with Maa Uma-Parvathi Natha.
Guru Pūrṇimā falls on the full moon of Āṣāḍha, the luminous threshold where the year turns inward. From this point the sun enters its southward course, the Dakṣiṇāyana, the contemplative arc toward reflection and interior practice. It is fitting that the day we honour the guru sits precisely at this hinge, between the outward brightness of the year’s first half and the inward descent that follows. Like the moon that shines only by light it receives, the guru receives the absolute and reflects it back to us in a form we can perceive, complete and undimmed.

The teaching is not knowledge transferred like tuition for a degree. It does not come from the mind of any single person or lineage, nor is it built from theory or dogma. It is a revelation of the direct energy living in the relationship between teacher and student, prakāśa and vimarśa, the shining forth and the reflective awareness of complete self-knowledge.
The teaching and the teacher are one living body, like a flame and its source. On this night, when the lunar mirror is most perfectly full, the living current of transmission shines back at us with nothing held in shadow, and we offer our gratitude to the unbroken lineage through which that light has reached us. This year’s Guru Pūrṇimā is especially powerful for invoking the energy of Dakṣiṇāmūrti and Dattātreya, the primordial gurus of Śrī Vidyā. We are deeply blessed in our lineage by one of the gurus said to have merged with Dattātreya. This is what Guru Pūrṇimā invites us to honour and in so doing opens us to the living current.
There is a traditional practice of the Guru Maṇḍala in which you begin 45 days before Guru Pūrṇimā, taking up a practice that you then carry through the night of Guru Pūrṇimā. If you like, begin now, or 45 days before, and consider what practice you would like to offer. The reason we have inherited such rich teachings and consciousness technologies is that people kept them alive: this is a living stream. It is our dharma, our privilege, to keep it alive for the coming generations through living practice, so that it never becomes a museum relic. Any practice may be offered. Let that be the practice you sustain through the night of Guru Pūrṇimā. Some suggestions, if you already hold them, are Dattātreya practice. Of course, any of your own practices are welcome, as is anything for Śiva or Devī: the Hanumān Chālīsā and any Lalitā practices are especially recommended.

Guru Pūrṇimā cae en la luna llena de Āṣāḍha, el umbral luminoso donde el año comienza a volverse hacia dentro. Guru Dattātreya Practice, with Stories of Lopāmudrā
Join Maa Uma-Parvathi Natha for this session on Tuesday, July 28th, 2:00 pm – 4:30 pm (NYC time), where we will learn about this primordial teacher of Śrī Vidyā and offer his practice on this auspicious full moon. We will also hear the stories of Lopāmudrā, one of the foundational female gurus of the Śrī Vidyā lineage.
If the cost is prohibitive, or you live in a country with a different economic scale than the US or Western Europe, please write to us. We would be glad to have you join; tuition will not be a barrier.

But as a few more found their way it became necessary to clarify the above. As she is not a public figure, you cannot treat her as such, included in that you cannot use her photos without permission. Maintaining a website in these times is like having a phone line or electricity, it is an ordinary public utility and not a distinct public profile.
